What time is it? For several years Worldstudio Foundation asked a group of artists and designers to create one-of-a-kind works by customizing a certain object. The results were then auctioned off to benefit the Foundation's scholarship programs. In 2000 the object was a wall clock, and Open's Scott Stowell (with the help of engineer Sam Kusack) replaced its face with frosted plexiglass and moved its hands so the clock ran at 60 times normal speed. The result was a purely conceptual piece titled "Time Moves Very Quickly and Is Difficult to Measure."
